For PhD students looking to break into consulting, McKinsey begins with a resume screen. Afterwards, the first round interview consists of a 26 question timed test (1 hour), which is a bit of a crunch along with a group interview case. The second round consists of two 2 1 on 1 interviews with cases and personal questions. The last round is a half day at the specific office that you are applying for, and the format varies by office.
