Research Analyst Intern

It was a position at McKinsey's North American Knowledge Center (NAKC), the foundation for McKinsey's knowledge operations (including analysts from McKinsey Center for Government; McKinsey Global Institute, and various practices).

The interview included a brain teaser, a case interview, and two behavioral interviews. People were very friendly there and the culture was great, very nurturing and really focused on your individual professional development. In addition, despite being a research role, you have access to all the training materials within the firm, as well as insight into their recruiting practices for BA's and Associate's.

There's a good chance you may meet friendly-enough colleagues to help you prepare for case interviews, in addition, if you're looking to make a switch to the BA side of consulting from a non-target, it would be smart to leverage this opportunity, develop good working relationship with associates, directors, and partners, and have them vouch for you to get an interview opportunity.
