Interview
The process started with a call with the recruiter, who asked general experience-based questions to get to better know my motivations for applying and why I was interested in M&T. I then moved on to two rounds, both with two individuals per round (SVPs or higher). These rounds were all behavioral based and lasted 30 minutes per round. The SVPs cared about fit with the specific team you're interviewing with (in my case, I interviewed with enterprise customer growth, so they wanted to know if I have customer-facing experiences). I then waited 1 month before the recruiter called me about the final round interview. This final round was with a Senior Executive Vice President, lasting 40 minutes and all behavioral based as well. I heard back with an offer a few days after.

Interview
The initial call with HR was set up at the end of August and the call took place at the beginning of September. After this call there was a long period of not hearing anything back, then in December, the HR recruiter emailed me a department that was interested in interviewing me. The interview was with two managers, lasted about 30-40 minutes, and was all behavioral questions. I received an offer within 4-5 days of my second interview and had a week to accept or decline.
Interview Questions
The interview was all behavioral and pretty much the typical questions any interviewer will ask you. The only question that took me off guard, and this was on me, was to explain my second major and why I chose it.

Phone Interview
Interview
Applied online. Initial phone call interview with a recruiter followed by another phone interview with the hiring manager for the division. Questions we're purely behavioral and very straightforward.
Interview Questions
Questions focused mostly on previous work experience. A high degree of emphasis was placed on technical skills such as experience with Excel and Tableau and applications of both in previous projects at other firms. Both the recruiter and hiring manager were easygoing and direct with their questions. After reviewing experience and skills the interview shifted towards behavioral questions that emphasized fit within the division. No trick questions or difficult riddles to solve. Plenty of time at the end to ask the interviewers questions and review logistics.

Interview
M&T Bank came to my school's campus, and I was able to talk to the recruiters at the table and people who worked at the bank. I gave them my email, and they emailed me an online application for the program. When I scheduled the interview, they then asked for my resume. I had one phone interview with them.
Interview Questions
I found the most unexpected question was when the recruiter asked how I got and maintained such a high grade point average at my college. I had never been asked that question before, so it was really weird to me to be asked that. The recruiter seemed more interested in my school career, why I chose to attend my specific college, which classes I decided to choose to take and my rationale behind it, rather than gauging my knowledge about the bank and management, and the position that I was applying for.
