Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I cold emailed a local financial adviser my resume, she then referred me to the local New York Life office. I was then contacted to set up an interview in their Bala Cynwyd office. The interview was long however the interviewer actually did most of the talking. He first discussed his background prior to asking me to walk through my resume. He then spent an extensive period of time discussing the culture of New York Life, pointing to numerous pamphlets and company literature which rated New York Life as superior to its competitors. He then provided me some homework to be completed before the next interview, primarily a personality exam which he emphasized is a huge part of NY Life's initial screening. I was contacted a few days later saying that the company was looking for a more experienced individual.
