Please describe the interview / hiring process.
The first round interview consisted of two relatively simple cases. Both were minimally quantitative; in the first I was asked just to outline how I would complete a particular market sizing case, while the second was a more involved cost reducing case. Altogether, though, the first round interview was not particularly complicated. It seemed to me that Parthenon was really looking for basic analytical competencies, as well as the ability to communicate professionally and project the kind of nice, intelligent vibe that they're looking for. It was the second round interview that got me. The turnaround was extremely quick- I found out about my second round interview later on in the evening of the first interview, and the second was the next day. The first case here was more challenging than either of the ones in the first round interview, and was another market sizing question. Overall it was a very cordial and enjoyable process, albeit a very stressful one. Don't let Parthenon's "nice people" thing deceive you into thinking for one second that they aren't just as serious intellectually as any of the other top firms.
