Fixed Income Asset Management Summer Analyst

Quick and easy one-on-one on campus, interviewer made up his mind to invite me back for a superday about 10 minutes in. Next 20 minutes just talked markets. Then 3 one-on-one interviews for the superday. Two of the guys were about 4-7 years out of college, one guy was very, very senior. Interview with the senior guy was all fit, rest were technicals. Technicals were a little tough, you need to know duration, convexity, macro and industry trends, basic fixed income investing. Also need to know current events and have 1-2 trade ideas you can tie to those events and to macro trends.

Everyone was great, however. Senior guy pretty much told me that he really likes me and likes my drive but I'm a sophomore in college and I should do something else this summer before committing my entire career to finance. Couldn't really argue that...
