First round interview consisted of general questions, walk me through your resume, why this bank, why this group, what are two types of processes in the BSL. Second round interview was a live case study, had to make a short deck in an hour and a half ish and propose a loan structure for a company, then present to four senior bankers. Final round in person, three 45 minute one on ones and a 45 minute group interview, all pretty behavioral. Good people.

Interview
The hiring process consisted of three rounds. The first round was with HR and focused on behavioral questions, career aspirations, and overall fit for the role and team. The second round was conducted by an analyst on the team and included technical questions covering calculus (including derivatives of standard functions), probability (such as calculating the expected number of coin tosses required to obtain two consecutive heads), and market knowledge related to fixed income, currencies, commodities (FICC), and interest rates. The final round was held in person and focused on problem-solving and software design. I was asked to discuss relevant design patterns, explain my approach to solving a given problem, and outline a solution using pseudocode.
Interview Questions
The most unexpected questions were around software design rather than math or markets. I was asked about the MVC (Model-View-Controller) design pattern and the Observer design pattern, where a subject notifies all subscribed observers when its state changes.

The interviewer then asked me to design a software system from scratch in pseudocode. I had to walk through the architecture, explain which design patterns I would use, justify my design decisions, and discuss how the different components would interact. Since my preparation had been focused more on probability, statistics, and trading concepts, the emphasis on software design was the biggest surprise.

Interview
There was one hirevue, followed by a video interview with 2 associates and an AC that consisted of a group activity, one on one fit and motivational interview with an MD and one on one technical and case study interview with another MD. Case study was decently technical and involved assessing if you should or should not lend to the company. Fit interview consisted of basic fit questions, some light technicals but mainly went where you took the interview in terms of your answers. As a whole process was quite chill, there was no intimidating factor.
Interview Questions
Format of the case study was slightly unexpected. Asked about M&A and other bank functions. Also asked about capital structure, debt vs equity.

2.5 weeks between initial phone screen and interview. Still waiting for a rejection/offer. Be well prepared as soon as you apply, as this group is very technically focused.
Interview Questions
By far the most difficult interview I've ever had. Not mentioning specific questions in this thread. However, a word of advice. Knowing basic technicals will not get you past the superday; understanding the L48 Shale plays, commodity mixes in each basin, and price differentials between commodities is a check in the box. Market knowledge will help you in the interview, but most of the VPs or ADs in the group come from a technical background, so you'll more than likely answer a question completely wrong. Maintain composure and keep a level head and you might have a chance.
