Interview
I found out about and applied to Silver Lane Advisors through campus recruiting efforts. Within the day, I received an email asking to schedule a phone interview. Once the pool of applicants was narrowed down, they take in about 20 candidates for in-person interviews.
Interview Questions
I was asked how I would approach killing a polar bear, which kind of caught me off guard. Most questions were behavioral, fit questions. For example, why investment banking; why finance; why did you choose your major; etc. Some technical stuff was covered (e.g. walk me through the three financial statements). They request, before the in-person interview, a transcript, as well as a writing sample and a financial model and/or a PowerPoint presentation as a sample work product. I used an investment memo that I had written for my internship the previous summer (asset management shop, summer credit analyst).

Interview
I interviewed for a summer analyst position for after my junior year. They said they run the same process for full-time candidates. Process was: i saw a listing on CareerNet; submitted my resume and cover letter; spoke with an MD on the phone for 10 minutes; and invited in to meet with one MD and three analysts for a half-hour each. They asked me to send them a school paper to see my writing style. I didn't make it to the final round, which they said would be meeting the other MDs in the New York office. Sounds like full-time applicants also take a modeling test, although i couldn't tell if that was all the finalists or just some of them.

Questions were pretty straightforward. The MD seemed to focus mostly on why i chose my major, why investment banking, etc. The analysts asked me more technical questions. They were pretty cool about giving feedback about why i didn't make it to the final round. I plan to apply again in the fall for full-time.

Saw the SUNY comment below. The analysts I met with were from NYU Stern, Penn, and Tufts, but maybe that's just who they matched me with.
Interview Questions
Maybe the only unexpected question was who was the toughest person i ever worked for and why? Other than that, nothing super unexpected. I probably should've brushed up on CAPM before, though. Some accounting questions too. One I remember was what are ways that companies can manipulate their earnings? Also, what did I know about the firm? How do I think the experience would be different at a boutique compared to a BB. Why did i choose my college? What financial modeling classes have i taken? How much have I used excel for work before?

Interview
Overall a very indirect process. Numerous back and forth with what appeared to be an Executive Assistant and then a junior analyst. Overall had a 45minute call with Managing Director, who made it clear before the call even started that the work was solely admin/grunt work and that he did not want to hire more interns than he already had. They mostly hire Binghamton and other SUNY grads as interns.
Interview Questions
What is your biggest weakness? Why our firm? What was something you struggled with at your past internship? Why would you still interview if you know you will only be doing grunt work?
What can you bring to the table? What are the 4 major valuation methods? Why IB versus other parts of finance? What major deal have you followed over past month?

Interview
There was a initial resume screening of 300 resumes. After passing the resume screen, which was reviewed by HR. A phone interview was schedules with a Managing Director. Fairly lengthy interview of 1 hour. This was behavioral. Then a Super Day was followed. I was one of four candidates for a analyst position. This consisted of all behavioral questions. I was interviewed by the entire team
Interview Questions
Awkward question on how I would kill a polar bear, if I was experienced with a spear? Also, mainly resume questions were asked on what I did for leadership/ internship, etc. Difference between sell side transactions and buy-side.
How to evaluate a financial services company using a DCF or a comparables? Also, why can't you use a regular DCF for a financial institution?
