Interview
It was a surprisingly quick interview process. I had only gotten the interview because of a 1:1 I setup through linkedIn. My contact had graciously forwarded my resume to the hiring manager, which opened the door to the interview. First interview was an hour long with the hiring manager. From there, I met her team members and then the head of research. The first interview with the hiring manager was probably the most important one, as they would be my boss. If that interview did not go well, I would not had the following interviews. Following that interview, the rest seemed like "process" interview to make sure I wasn't a weirdo lol. Conversations were great and the team was transparent, kind, and thoughtful. Great interview experience.
Interview Questions
The most difficult portion of the interview was explaining your thought process on market sizing, analyzing literature, and coming up with conclusions based on that. You will need to concisely explain your thinking. Seems obvious, but keeping the interviewers attention while highlighting your critical thinking ability can be hard.

Interview
3 interviews total, one with an associate in the St. Louis headquarters, and two with an MD and a VP at the SF office. Was almost entirely behavioral and really focused a lot on fit/why I was interested in public finance. Also asked about college classes and quantitative projects I had done. All the interviewers were really nice, seemed interested in their work, and thoroughly answered my questions.
Interview Questions
- What is an example of a quantitative project that you completed where you had a write a concise briefing/memo to summarize your findings?
- What do you read to stay up to date with the market?

Interview
Interviewing at Stifel Nicolaus Investment Bank was rather rigorous for a summer analyst role. They tested my financial knowledge, analytical skills, and work ethic etc. The process included technical and behavioral assessments, where I had to demonstrate my financial modeling and valuation skills. The interviews evaluate my technical abilities but also my ability to work well in a team, handle pressure, and communicate effectively.
Interview Questions
Behavioural, situational, technical questions including DCF and LBO modeling and technique. I was told to write down the formulas for certain ratios (P/E, quick ratio, etc) and calculate a std. dev for a particular set of stocks.
