Interview
A friend of mine at a BB referred me to Sunrise saying Sunrise is in need of a couple interns to staff the deals they have going on. Sunrise has always trusted a staffing agency to bring on interns, and my friend put me in contact with this agency. The first contacts I had with Sunrise were all through the agency via email, and two weeks after initiation of conversation the agency decided to put me through an interview with the company.

The interview was a phone interview for about 25 minutes. They offered to fly me to their office in NYC but I was in my last internship in Chicago so I declined and opted for a phone interview. An associate (and the only one left at the time) interviewed me, asked me some commonplace fit questions. Then when I asked her a couple of questions, she got really honest and told me the understaffing situation at Sunrise. I really appreciated her honesty and it really helped me pivot my expectations of the hours and what I can get out of the internship at Sunrise.

Because they offered to fly me in and I declined, we did not have another 2-round interview and they offered me the position about two days after the interview.
Interview Questions
Q: What would you do if you were shrunk to the size of a pencil, and dropped off into a operating blender?

A: I would go as close to the axis of the rotating blade as possible, because relative physics state the speed at that place would be zero, so I could have the liberty to climb my way up, given if it's a standard-issued blender.

Q: What is the difference between FCFF and FCFE?

Q: I see you did research on e-commerce. What do you think of the e-commerce landscape right now in U.S.?

Interview
I cold-called the company when I was looking for internship positions and sent my resume to someone at the firm. They called me back and scheduled an "informational interview" with a managing director. I ended up going to New York for the interview. The MD was foreign, likely from Eastern Europe. He didn't ask me any technical questions and there was nothing that stood out from what I remember of it. It only lasted about 15-20 minutes. The guy seemed nice but I don't think I connected with him; I was focusing more on trying to understand his accent as opposed to how I responded to his questions/my mannerisms.

At the end, he told me "we aren't sure if we are going to do an intern program this year, but get in touch with me in late March." He gave me his card; I sent a thank you e-mail but he never replied. I never got in touch with him again due to already having another offer accepted. I was pretty unhappy that they had me come to New York for this; it could have been easily done over the phone.
Interview Questions
Tell me about yourself:

I just recited the story that I had been practicing. Honestly, there were no questions that were difficult from what I remember. I'd imagine it would get a little tougher for subsequent rounds, but I never progressed to them.
