Interview
The phone interview consisted of asking me for my prior experience, which was successful retail trading. This seemed to be more than enough, even without evidence and verification of prior trading experience, to invite me to trade for them. Next consisted of an e-mail "interview" to ask me if my schedule would fit with market hours, and telling me that it's a no-salary, commissions only position. They informed me that it's best to only take the position if I did not immediately need money.

There were no unexpected interview questions. I believe that they take anybody on-board who wants to join.
Interview Questions

Phone interview for the initial screening with operations manager after submitting my resume a few weeks prior. Told us they would call back anyone that passed the test. Was asked to come back and interview with owner a week later. Interview consisted of various personality, mathematical and probability questions to understand how one thinks and how quickly one can process information.

Interview
I applied online for a position as a proprietary trader trainee. I had been working as a physical commodity trader for 8 months at that time but knew that I wanted to try something different. After trading e-mails with their recruiter and a couple of phone conversations I came in for a group interview/IQ test. The timing was odd because at the time I was living in Kansas City and scheduling as much as I could for monthly trips to Chicago so my experiences may not have been 100% typical. At the group interview the candidates all had diverse backgrounds. One was a physical trader like me at the time, one was an undergrad student whose brother worked as a trader at a similar group in Chicago, one was a grad student and one was in some sort of sales role. All the candidates sat in a room and did an IQ test because myself and the undergrad student would not be in town the following week we were told that if we scored high enough we would be invited back for the next steps in the afternoon via a phone call. After killing 2 hours on the internet in a Starbucks i was invited back for the second round and when I showed up the undergrad student was there as well. After a short discussion from the recruiter and a very brief hello from a senior member of the team we went and sat with one of the trader's who showed us his positions and answered general questions.
Interview Questions
Are you willing to accept the risk of not making any money for at least 3 months? Even after that we expect some of the trainees will still be earning less than what is required for someone your age, what makes you think you have the competitive drive to succeed in the role?
The IQ test was a little stressful because I had to take it with 5 other guys and had never done one like it before.
