Interview Details
A developer in the company posted to a mailing list looking for developers, so I emailed him directly, and he responded that I'd hear back from my recruiter soon. When I did, it took a few more business days to setup a call with HR. HR just asked basic questions about my background seemingly to judge communication skills, then gave me a two-hour timed programming test to do online. The programming test did not include an option to use the programming language they claimed to be hiring for (though the platform did support that language in the sample-test).
Since they never had me talk even briefly to anyone other than HR, and took so long to respond, I was skeptical that they were really serious about hiring. I had a lot of other interviews to go to, and by the time I got a chance to do the coding test I already had multiple offers. I felt like their process probably causes them to miss good opportunities.
