The number you see in the middle of the doughnut pie chart is the simple average of these scores. If you hover over the various sections of the donut, you will see the % breakdown of each score given.

The percentile score in the title is calculated across the entire Company Database and uses an adjusted score based on Bayesian Estimates (to account for companies that have few interview insights). Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
Applied to a posting on my school's career site and received a request for a phone interview within a few weeks. Their recruiting tends to take place relatively late in the season- March to April or even May. Came into the office for an interview with Brandon, the VP of Strategy who runs the internship program, the Comptroller of a newer portfolio company, and Marketing Director of an established portfolio company. Brandon's interview was the most rigorous. The others were more friendly fit interviews.
Interview Questions
Q: Describe the projects you worked on at your previous internships. (Pushed for a lot of follow-up details)
Q: What business writing experience do you have?

A: When I interviewed with them they needed a good writer to work on the website, internal reports, investor communications, etc. I discussed my writing classes, student publications, and investor letters for previous internships.

Since VB is a relatively small firm, their needs in their internship program are usually very specific at any given point in time. Make sure to emphasize exactly why your skills and background are a good fit for these needs.

Interview
Their timeline was relatively late; I applied in March for a summer internship and came in for an interview at their Manchester office during finals week. They were quite flexible in scheduling the interview. I met with 3 or 4 people during the interview process. None of them asked any technical questions, but one grilled me on every line of my resume and on relevant academic work. The rest were primarily basic fit questions about my previous internship experience, my sport, what I knew about the healthcare sector, and why I wanted to work there.
Interview Questions
Unusually detailed questions about my resume- I'd advise reviewing the fine points of all your previous projects.
