Bain BEL Interview

Good afternoon WSO’ers,

I was recently notified that I am moving onto the interview stage for the Bain BEL program. I read online that the case is usually a simple market-sizing exercise which I have no problem with. Can anyone agree or disagree on this with experience?

Also, I was invited to the BCG “bridge to consulting” workshop, and I’m unsure how this will work. Can anyone with experience in this chime in? Thanks!

Sincerely,

MBB enthusiast

Your spot on--these programs are meant to fill the bench with diverse candidates early on for DEI and signaling reasons, and are targeted at university students earlier in their career, so that case interview process isn't as strenuous because there's no expectation that the candidates have a depth of case interview experience/practice. Market sizing and perhaps, at most, a profitability/breakeven case (very simple). You'll have a chance to be an "intern" for a week and then end with a case/market sizing interview, and if you've shown that you can do the work and case well (e.g., do basic PowerPoint and maybe a simple excel analysis) then you get an internship offer.

You'll do great, my friend. Some of the very, very best people in my class came from the BEL program. Go crush it and get that offer!

Remember, always be kind-hearted.
