Black listed?

I think I've been black-listed at BCG. I now have an offer in hand from another MBB (well, let's just say MB), but despite the endless wrangling and networking, I just can't seem to get my foot back in the door of BCG. I had a final round interview over a year ago, after which I was dinged, and feedback was offered - but never granted, despite a (VERY polite) voicemail and a couple of emails. At the time, I attributed this to the busy-ness of sell season. But when my first rounder interviewer, who had previously been gushing at my earlier performance, abruptly stopped responding to e-mail, I thought something more might be afoot. Fast forward to 2 years later, and all of my inquests into this company stop just short of the interview room. I've even tried once more to re-connect with the first round interviewer, but she completely ignored my email and vaguely told a friend, who approached her on my behalf, that she would "be in touch." Naturally, nothing materialized.

I'm pleased with what I have, but I feel like BCG is a better "fit" for several reasons, and I just can't shake the feeling that I'm being held at bay by some invisible black list. Does this happen? It's incredibly frustrating. What gives?

"...the art of good business, is being a good middle man, putting people togeather. It's all about honor and respect."

If you have another offer why are you complaining? If you thought they'd be a good fit, but they didn't feel the same way, then go to the place that wants you.

So you feel you're a good fit for a firm whose employees ignore you. Riiight. Tbh, they act badly and you shouldn't care.

You haven't been blacklisted, you just got rejected. From your story, it sounds like your rejection was for normal full-time recruiting, and now you're trying to lateral, but they're not interested because they already looked at you and decided they didn't want you. And your first-round interviewer stopped answering your emails because you didn't get hired. Nothing more to it.

One of those lights, slightly brighter than the rest, will be my wingtip passing over.

I'm going to bet that she got staffed on a tough case, didn't have time when she got the emails, and then forgot. It happens.

She may not even remember you, after 2 years. That's a lot of interviews ago.
