I was wondering what the scene is regarding management consulting in Dubai, especially at the entry level.
Some background information:
- I am currently a Master degree student in Europe, at a semi-target;
- GPA: top 10% for both my Bachelor and Master degree;
- Business / Strategy Development internship at a Fortune 500 FMCG company;
- Co-founded an investment group on campus, with which I regularly do market and firm-specific research.
I know that there have been some topics about management consulting in Dubai, but they have remained rather vague and have not touched upon entry level positions specifically. How plausible do you guys think that I land an entry-level position in management consultancy in Dubai, and what would be my best way forward?

Some friends of mine worked in Dubai/ME and told me the acceptance ratio is rather high since many Europeans want to avoid it - most women, for a start. I have also been told that it is notoriously easier to transfer into the region than out of the region. ME consultancies recruit rather heavily from Europe, so it is definitely doable. These recruiting channels might be more or less established depending on the university you attend, so a good idea might be to look for alumni over there and see if you can get a referral from a local office.
Example: a friend of mine told an MBB recruiter in his country (Western Europe) that he was interested in Dubai/Riyadh and she connected him with a couple consultants/recruiters from the Dubai office. He made a lot of effort to keep in touch and insisted on his interest in applying there, and they ended up flying him to some Western European office when part of the Dubai team was there on an assignment to meet them. He ended up joining a bit later.
