Consulting in Texas

Hey--in close contact with the Managing recruiter in the Dallas office. And interviewed with Bain West Coast earlier. Dallas office is one of the fastest growing offices right now. They recruit from the top Northern/East Coast schools, but they also recruit heavily from top Texas schools and programs. Good office to go after if your interested in Bain.

i was asking more so for MBA not so much for undergrad just to put that out there :D

McKinsey has an office there too - recruits from top b-schools

Lots of consulting in Houston. Booz's world-class Energy practice is big down in Texas.

First off, Texas isn't a backwater, MBB and others are committed there.

I've worked with people from Sloan, Kellogg and UT out of our Texas offices. Relatively small sample size, but I'd say UT isn't common, but present.

no i dont think anyone was saying that texas is backwater at all, i was just overall curious if they were pulled from the northern reaches or if UT kids had fighting chances haha. i understand that there are lots of texans at M7s but wasnt sure how many would want to return to texas to do consulting so wasnt sure how decent the pull was for MBB at UT ;p

Yeah, I know, it's at the need to state that McK has an office there... no shit. They also have one in New York and San Francisco.

Also, just an FYI, I've heard from ex-Bainies that Dallas is kind of a screwed-up office, they don't play well with the rest of the firm (all MBB have them, I'm not singling out Bain).
