"Exclusive" Networking Event

I did some networking with one firm at my school (target) and got invited to an "exclusive" networking event at a local restaurant through email. What exactly does that mean and what should I expect? Mandatory to go to get an interview? Would the event most likely just involve talking to the firm's people?

I've been to a few of these with Big 4; in my experience, it's not too exclusive; it was about 5-6 people from the firm and 40-60 candidates across different schools (candidates got drink tickets). The colleagues all had contact info on them, we were encouraged to email and stay connected. But outside of that, there wasn't much utility since it was like one colleague to five to ten candidates.
