EY-Parthenon SSG vs. Strategy& FT
Managed to get FT offers for both of these, Strategy& Deals Strategy is generalist (consumer, industrials, tech, and healthcare), EY-Parthenon is for software strategy group. Was hoping to get insights on what offer to take?
General Goals (no particular order)
- Interest in both Growth and Private Equity, which is why I targeted both firms given DD presence
- Interested in software and tech but unsure whether specializing (ex. through SSG) or general exposure would be better + not sure whether I could find other industries more interesting via exposure
- Good B School Placement
- Good Culture

If you’re US, diligence is done in the Deals Strategy team, not Strategy&
Forgot to specify, it's in the deals strategy team. Is there any difference in the quality of DD experience there compared to EY-P SSG?
S& imo, would bet that EYP would push your start date at least 6 months after S&
Comes down to if you want to specialize in software now or still explore other areas
Have talked to folks from both teams. My impression is that SSG is slightly more elite than your typical tier II deals team. They tend to work with UMM PE and do some more sophisticated/technical work. I.e technical DDs and OP DDs for software specific things. S& Deals is one of their better teams too and as you said you could get more variety beyond tech. For Biz school placement I don’t think there is a noticeable difference. Would lean towards SSG all else equal.
