Final round for internship last year = better chances for FT MBB recruiting?
Im a junior at a target getting ready for FT recruiting. I recruited for the internships last year, got to final rounds for 2 MBB, but didn't end up converting. It's not like I bombed the cases or anything, just didn't have my best showing. Will this help or hinder me in the recruiting process? Will they even keep track of the fact that I didn't convert after my final round? Thanks for the help!

I've never heard of a situation like this hurting someone's chances at a FT offer. If anything, I've heard the opposite, where people who made it to the final round for internships are automatically given interviews for FT recruiting.
Understood. Thank you!
The only way it could hurt your chances is if the final round went terribly (which you say it didn't).
My office does look at interview notes occasionally in these scenarios - if you were borderline, they may even waive the first round.
Thanks for weighing in!
Yes you should have better chances. I have friends who got rejected at the final round, and they often got guaranteed final round interviews the next year. But obviously nothing is a guarantee, so get the best internship you can get and put 100% effort into your application next year.
