Finding an internship to help with consulting

Junior in undergrad at a non-target school. Want to break into consulting but stats aren't good enough to apply (3.3 gpa). I've been working at a vc firm for the past 10 months which I feel helps my application a bit but still feel like I missed out on being able to snag a junior summer consulting internship. Just wondering if anyone has been in similar shoes or have any advice on what kind of internships I should go for that would be most relevant to applying to full time consulting positions after I improve my GPA.
