Haven’t heard back from recruiter about final round decision. Should I reach out to them?

Hey there everybody, I was hoping I could get some insights and a little help on a little issue I’m having.

Last Thursday I had my final interview with a partner at the T2 (OW/S&/K) that I’m looking forward to intern with, both him and the recruiter I’ve been in contact with told me that I would be hearing from them this week, regardless if it was to give the offer or to notify about the rejection.

Well, it’s already been a week and a day, and I’m frankly getting a bit anxious. I normally wouldn’t mind, but I’m really looking forward to joining this firm.

Thus, I’m conflicted about if I should send an email to the recruiter asking them politely if there have been any news, or if it will make me look pushy/desperate.

I still have hope that they’ll reach out later this day, but the wait is killing me a bit.

What’s everyone’s take on this?

Cheers.
