London Summer Internship Consulting
I want to apply for the summer internship programmes at strategy consulting firms in London. I go to a UK uni but averaged 2.2 in my first year (which is worth a small amount overall). I am pretty confident I can get a 1.1 at uni so I want to write predicted 1.1 on my CV. My question is if I were to get an offer from a consulting firm for a summer internship, will they request for my transcript? I can prove that I attend the uni through other means so I wouldn't need to provide the transcript for proof of uni status.
thanks!
Not worth the risk.
For instance - did engineering at a UK non-target (but still an ok university), got 2.2 in first and second year, and only wrote I expected a 2.1 on my CV, which was realistic (ended up graduating with a first, but that is another story). I passed resume screening for McK and got a final round at BCG.
Even if you were to get the job, they would do background checks. No point lying and getting caught.
i totally get that for full time jobs, but do they check for summer internships?
I personally would not risk it - I did my summer internship in a completely different sector (R&D), and they had quite a comprehensive background check. Are you at a target? If so, a 2.1 should be sufficient.
