MBB Full-Time MBA Recruiting Update

I just finished the first year of my MBA program at a M7 school and am currently interning at a T2 consulting firm. I had final round interviews at 2 of the 3 MBB firms, but unfortunately did not receive an internship offer from either company.

I really want to land a full time offer at an MBB, but have been hearing whispers that McKinsey and BCG are not doing any full time recruiting. Bain seems to be the only firm that will have a presence on campus this Fall.

What is everyone else hearing in terms of full time hiring?

To clarify, our career office told students that McKinsey and BCG would not be interviewing second years for full time positions in the fall. Both firms are supposedly going to fill their full time positions with current summer associates. From what I’ve been hearing from friends at these firms, it sounds like the bench is extremely, extremely deep.

Great to hear that your conversations suggest otherwise.

Could it potentially just be different offices? Also, any differences between undergrad and MBA? It's very peculiar to me how there isn't a firm-wide stance on this. The logic I've consistently heard is that 2 yrs down the line if no MBAs are being hired they'll be wondering why there's such a shortage of managers. This economic bout will surely only be temporary.
