MBB in Africa?

Hey all,

Recently a recruiter from MBB reached out to me to discuss a graduate opportunity at one of their African offices. I lived in that country for a few years before coming to university, and would not mind moving back for the right opportunity.

However, I was wondering how reputable these offices are in the eyes of top business school, should I decide to pursue an MBA. Also, how hard are internal transfers, should I decide to move back to Europe?

With McKinsey's global staffing model, it almost doesn't matter what office you're in because you could get a project in any other country. Bain and BCG have a semi-regional focus so you'll be doing MENA work and perhaps something in Southern Europe. From a reputation standpoint, I think they would be seen as good regardless of location. It's not like being in a BO/MO only office - consultants in Egypt will do exactly what consultants in Spain do, just in different countries and industries.

Not sure about mobility in general but I've know a couple of French people that didn't get into MBB Paris offices directly and spent 1-2 years in the Morocco offices before transferring internally. I'm sure it is doable for other countries too.
