Methods to Accelerate Consulting Interviews?
Hey, I'm a rising sophomore and I have solid banking experience (working m&a this summer and working at a REIT in an acquisitions/underwriting role in the fall) so I'm definitely going to apply to investment banks. However, I also have solid consulting experience as I'm staffed for a microlending/consulting nonprofit and am in another consulting organization, meaning I also have an interest in that space. There are a lot of banks that I wouldn't take over MBB, but due to the application timing, might have to, due to offers being sent out in May or June. Is it possible to expedite any interviews for MBB, especially Mckinsey which starts on July 1 to match my investment banking timeline?
If you email the recruiter they can sometimes expedite interviews for you. Note that this is both firm and office dependent. For example, Bain will accelerate interviews in regional offices but usually won't do it for the mega offices (Boston, NY, SF, Chicago) just because there are so many applicants that doing a one-off expedited interview isn't worth it for them.
+1 here - recruited at a T1 city for MBB and none of the firms let me expedite even though I had two solid offers from other places.
