PwC Advisory Tech Offer

Expecting an offer from PwC Advisory for Sr. Associate Position, but for FS Technology sector, New York City area. Had 3.5 yrs of experience with HP and master's degree (non-MBA) from targeted school.

I saw this salary guide from managementconsulted, but wasn't sure if it applies to the profile above.

Can anyone give the ballpark offer for the case above? Really need some estimates before negotiating with them.

OP - I am a Big 4 international M&A financial services alum. My specialty was cross-border deals F100 and HF structuring. There may be others who can better answer your question, but generally based on my experience:

  • Big 4 salaries and sign-on bonuses are lower than HFs, IB, PE.
  • Big 4 salaries are based on where you LIVE not where you work.
  • Therefore, if you live in Chicago but are employed at Big 4 NYC office, you are paid according to the Chicago salary bracket. Why would you be living in Chicago yet hired by PwC NYC for your Chicago connections (CME Group, CBOE, options traders).
  • If you reside in Chicago - your travel frequency to NYC office depends on your vertical, sub-group team, and client/target needs. Some persons travel to NYC for a week ~every 6 weeks. Other persons fly to NYC Sunday and return home to Chicago every week. In other words, you work M-F in NYC.
  • If you reside in Chicago or NYC - Likely you will travel for PwC work in Switzerland and London.
  • Big 4 only negotiate salaries for Manager hires and above.
  • Big 4 may negotiate sign-on bonus.
  • Big 4 may negotiate relocation assistance.
  • PwC FS Tech Sector ballpark salary, based on the above and discussions with my compadres is ~$120k.

Ping me if you need any further info.
