Seeking PwC Consultants-Financial Services
I'll be graduating with my Undergrad and will be starting at the Firm in the summer in NYC. Any associates/sr associates want to throw in their 2 cents with some advice to get ahead of the game?
For instance, I've heard that if you get stuck on a bad client/team to start out with, it's pretty hard to break out of the mold and get better projects, unless you're a master charmer and amazing at networking...
Any advice really is helpful!
The Academy should mitigate the risk of "getting stuck".
The best way for you to position yourself from getting stuck on a shit project is to use linkedIn and start networking now. Reach out to a few managers/directors/partners so when you're at training they'll get you on their project.
The Academy is still relatively new to PwC so there are still a few kinks in it. I know a bunch of kids who got assigned a long-term project that wasnt that great, and spent half of their Academy time there, so it doesnt mitigate that well.
The staffing process is pretty basic. HR wil just send the Manager/Director a mass amount of resumes, and they look through them and decide. Even with your resume, no single person will really stand out compared to your peers. Its luck of the draw.
