Transferring Offices before start date

Considering a transfer from west coast to east coast offices due to personal reasons. Role is BA at MBB with a start date during the summer.

Can this negatively affect me in any way?

I did this a month out from my start date with no problems. They might say no but there’s no harm in asking - they do try to be as accommodating as possible.

Honestly im in the same situation (want to switch from west to east coast) but don't think that would be allowed since you had already agreed to location when you signed the offer letter. Negotiating after accepting offer is pretty poor form at least in the finance. Not too sure bout consulting tho

Yes, bc there’s a lot more travel involved in consulting vs. IB. Every project you’re staffed on could be in a different city, with the expectation you’re on client site 3-4 days a week. OP can definitely ask and they would not be risking their offer (honestly, the worst they will do is say no). Not in IB so can’t share any insight on your situation.
