I’m moving from Audit to Transaction Advisory in a B4. Any tips to hit the ground running?

Hi everyone, spent two years in B4 Audit and now moving to Transaction Advisory to another B4.

I’m gonna be a senior consultant so I’m very excited about it. I’ve been doing some reading on the following books to prepare:

The intelligent investor - Benjamin Graham Applied Mergers & Acquisitions - Robert Bruner

Then I’m planning to read Valuations from McKinsey since I’ve been told I’ll be doing valuations and financial due diligence mostly.

What would be some additional useful ressources I could use? If anyone has made a similar move from Audit to TS, what would you recommend?

Thanks!

Sorry - probably can’t answer your question but I was curious as to why you bounced to another Big 4 as opposed to moving internally? Also, is it possible to make the move to TS after only 1 year of audit experience (either internal or external)?

Your time would be best spent mastering excel in my opinion. The thing people coming from Audit struggle the most with is the Excel learning curve. The other stuff you have leeway to pick up over time.
