Sr Financial Analyst Procurement to Fundamental Value Oriented Buy-Side or Corp Dev - Help!

I've got to make a decision soon about a Senior Financial Analyst - Procurement offer in a F1000 company. My long-term goal is to move into more investing like a long/short fundamental value-oriented fund or corporate development working on mergers and acquisitions. I graduated at the top of my class but from a non-target school, so I didn't think I had much chance at a fund right after graduation. My plan was to do CorpFin, but more like FP&A, not procurement, for two years and learn an industry and develop more finance knowledge and try to network my way into a fund - even a small one - over that time. Also, I'm not sure I can do the job really well. I was offered the Senior position, but I haven't even worked as a Financial Analyst before - I just graduated. I did do 1 year as a VC associate but I worked as a part of team with more senior people helping me out, so I'm not even sure I'm up to the responsibilities. Regardless, the hiring manager liked my resume and wanted to interview me and made an offer just two days later, so I guess he has faith in me. If I take the position, I know they are looking for someone to stay with the company for at least a couple years and I'm afraid that I will get pigeonholed in Procurement or even in CorpFin now and not be able to make the jump to investing. Is this a good role that will provide solid experience that I can leverage into an investing position or should I spend more time job hunting and just go for a hedge fund or Asset Management fund now? Also, the position is paying more than some of my other friends' offers are and they have far better financial modeling skills than me. What to do?
