Allen Edmonds Provo Derby

I'm looking to purchase a nice lace up black dress shoe. I know people highly recommend the Park Avenue, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience/thoughts on the Allen Edmonds Provo Derby? Outlet price is $99 vs. $269 for the Park Ave's.

Nice shoes but with a rubber sole. Go for Park Avenues and you will never go back. I have a pair and they are worth every penny. Classic look with a nice finish. PROVO DERBY SHOES are not bad shoes but they lack a nice leather sole. Disclaimer: I am a shoes addict so take my advice with a grain of salt.

The outlets are selling them for $99? I would get those in a heartbeat... the rubber soles are perfect for the rain.

I own PAs and highly recommend them too. Nordstorms had a sale (believe it ended August 7th)... black PAs were $250 before taxes. I've been trying to find the Merlots on sale.

So yea, get both shoes. $99 is an unbelievable price and PAs are the one of the best shoes I own. Good investment. Also, AE shoe trees are ~$20 on amazon and if you signup for the shoe newsletter you get 20% off on them.

OP, please confirm which outlet you saw the Provo's for $99... can't find it online.

I'm visiting family outside of Columbus, OH this weekend. There is an outlet in Jeffersonville. Called them early this week and asked how much a few of their different styles were, and those were the prices the employee told me.

Can't go wrong for $100 - just make them you're shitty weather/winter shoes. But besides that - Park Ave's, Fifth Ave's and Strand's are all a working man needs.
