I know people ask about shoes all the time and I wanted to give a little bump for Allen-Edmonds Recrafting service. I have had a pair of Greyson's since 2006 and had them recrafted last year. I know I probably waited way too long.
I have attached my before and after pics. The service was wonderful and felt like I received a brand new pair of shoes. I was given new shoe bags as well as new shoe trees. I cannot recommend this enough. Well worth the price of the service.
I had a bad experience with recrafting at Allen Edmonds. Mostly because they wouldn't accept my shoes (they told me the damage to the shoes was too severe). Fortunately, I didn't throw away the shoes, and I went to a shoe repair store near my office and they did it for about $100
They look good as new and I have not had any problems with them so I can't complain.
Sorry to hear that. The damage on mine was contained to the sole and footbed. Did they give you any indication as to why your shoes weren't acceptable?
They look great. How much usage did it take to wear them down that much?
Also, why did they give you new shoe trees? Do shoes come with shoe trees? If so, news to me; I didn't get any shoe trees.

Yours didn't look horrible before but do look brand new after. Not bad
Stored them in bags with shoe trees at all times. Never wore them more than one day in a row. Pleased with how they have held up.
I used them pretty heavily while travelling from 2006 through 2009.
