Ankle Showing Vs. No Ankle Showing Consensus?

Pretty self explanatory; where are we at with the whole business suit fashion trend for tailoring our suit pants short to show ankle? What do senior bankers think when they see this style? I presume it comes off a bit cocky and annoying.

Personally I get my pants (both suit pants and chinos) tailored to have no break lines, so if I'm standing straight up they basically graze my shoe tongue/heelback (obvi covering ankles), but when I walk the natural pull on my pants legs will allow my socks to show. Same when seated, basically anything other than standing at attention will give a sock peek. Socks are generally patterned and match my tie. In the summer there is a 50/50 shot that ill forgo socks if I'm in casual mode.
