If you can afford a pair of standard dress shoes (ie. black oxfords, etc) you should definitely go with that instead.
While some teams might be okay with interns wearing bit loafers, many are not. The general rule is that interns should dress as conservatively as possible. You don't want to remembered for your shoes.
