Backpack or messenger bag
Hey guys... I am beginning an internship in DC next week. I am wondering whether I should bring a backpack ( the one i used for school) or go get a messenger bag? Any thoughts or opinions would be helpful.

Will you get a laptop from your firm that comes in a laptop case / messenger bag? I remember getting such myself when I interned. However, there was barely any space in it once the laptop was in. Ended up using a messenger back, because wearing a suit and a backpack looked really odd to me.
I wont be wearing a suit...I'll be business casual. Also I wont be getting anything from the firm.
i'd go with messenger bag because it looks more professional. a backpack despite its great utility and roominess conveys a sense of youthfulness
Are there any options other than a backpack or messenger bag?
Not sure of any other options.. Don't have a big budget so a briefcase may be too much. What are some good stores to find cheap but good and usable messenger bags?
Obviously a briefcase or portfolio are your other options. Why do you want a bag though? What exactly do you plan on carrying to and from the office every day? The only logical answer is gym stuff, and that probably belongs in a gym bag.
Are you bringing a laptop back and forth to work or going to the gym straight after work? Otherwise, either of them seem like overkill.
As an intern, I at least rarely had the need to carry anything to or from the office. Occasionally, I would bring the folder I used for interviews or a notebook, but that's about it.
Unless you're stealing office supplies or food from the pantry, I just don't see the need for the bag.
nobody cares what bag you use.

Hey there are skittles in there!
