There are some old school guys who might not appreciate it. To your point, you don't see too many people in finance with facial hair. Similar to how you don't see too many modern politicians with facial hair.

Keep it relatively short and clean and you should be fine. I worked for a very conservative bank and you could see a few people sporting beards. If you're not sure it would work during interviews, shave it and grow it back once you have started. You'll then be able to get an inside perspective on whether it can work.
