Best dial color for a steel gold Rolex Daytona?

I am set to buy a pre-owned steel gold Rolex Daytona soon and I am really not sure which dial colour to choose. Do you have any suggestions? Please do not try to convince me to get a steel version or attach the watch itself. I am set on buying a two tone Daytona, the only option to change here is the dial colour. Really looking forward to your suggestions, thank you in advance!

Personally, I would go white.

In person, the red Daytona lettering pops amazingly well on the white dial. I prefer lighter dials with gold involved. Much cleaner transition to my eye than a black dial. I felt the same way when considering the Datejust. I was going to get a two tone DJ and leaned towards the silver dial. While not white, that reduced contrast from the gold in the case/bracelet to dial does it for me vs. the deep black.

FYI... Saying this while ending up buying an 116520 with black dial. No universal black dial hate.

On an unrelated note, the all gold Daytona with green dial... Wow. Stunning color combo.

I think I like it more than white from my point mentioned above. Love that easy transition from gold/SS in to champagne. The only reason I say white over champagne is the personal “pull it off” factor. So, if you are comfortable with that layer, I approve.

For some reason I am a hater of black and gold combo. Just does not do it for me at all. I think it may be due to all the “kids” back in college/HS who had black dial two tone seiko/fossil watches. Probably total bias on my part, but it is what it is. Different strokes for different folks.

Since you are going used, do you have a serial# you are after? The fit on the 116520 is amazing. Super thin and the curved lugs make it very classy and understated. Fits great under cuffs and is extremely light. Picked up my model (2016) used, like new, under warranty, and with the new blue lume. “Hate” the newer models with the slightly thicker/blocky design. I also love the engraved chrono vs. ceramic chrono for the Daytona. Save ceramic for the submariner/sea dweller.

personally, I’m not a fan of two-tone rolexes. but if it’s what you want, get it. however, if planning on selling it later for another more preferable Daytona, I would recommend waiting.

edit: if you want a black dial, maybe a steel cosmograph?

otherwise if you want gold+black maybe a yachtmaster rosegold 40
