Best Price to Quality Non-Iron White Dress Shirts?
Just building out my wardrobe for IB and trying to find some good white dress shirts? Any advice on where to go?
I've been thinking doing Uniqlo as I am a slim build. Hoping to spend less than $30/shirt if possible? Any places to buy in bulk for cheap?
Uniqlo are good ones, you barely need to iron them.
I'm not sure if you're serious, but if so, I'd be willing to head uptown and check their store out for days in the office when I'm not meeting anyone. From the web, the styles and colors seem reasonable, even the salmon. (Yes, salmon is fine once and a while in the summer with grey pants, just don't make it a habit)
Wash them, do not use your dryer. Hang them and let them dry. I only have white/light blue ones, they are definitely worth 30$ for the convenience, obviously the fabric wont be as good as a 100$+ shirt but it does the job when you do not have any meeting with clients. You can order them online, uniqlo has some very good basic sutff
If you ever have to wear jacket & tie and want a shirt that actually fits, any brand that uses S/M/L sizing (like Uniqlo, J. Crew, Banana Republic, etc) will be a total crap shoot. You may get lucky and end up being the body double of the guy they had in mind the they did sizing, but it's much more likely that the neck/sleeves will be wrong, and you never make a good impression with ill-fitting clothes.
If you're in NY, go to the Charles Tyrwhitt store and dial in your fit with collar to the nearest 1/2" and sleeve to the nearest 1", in 4 different fits.
Uniqlo are awesome.
Unfortunately they dont have super long sleeves for me but they are great otherwise.

If you're really into tailored waist, try the new Charles Tyrwhitt Super Fitted (~2" trimmer waist) or T.M. Lewin Super Fitted (~1.5" trimmer.)
Honestly man, Charles tyrwhitt... Quality is decent, it's cheap and it's non iron. Win across the board.
Who makes decent custom non-iron dress shirts for a half decent price? My neck is fatter than the rest of my body.
If you want to know the real secret of dress shirts, here is my personal opinion: The single greatest brand there is is Eton. They are expensive ($200+) but I have many I've used for 6 years and still are great. If you are ever in Europe they are actually only $100-$150 a shirt as there are luxury taxes on them in the US. You can get them annually on the Nordstrom friends and family sale for $150-$175. They can be machine washed/hang dried. I'd highly recommend investing in a few of these shirts.
The second secret - buy a steamer. buy nice shirts so you don't need an iron. A steamer is easily the best thing I've bought for my daily routine.
Non-relevant but important- don't skimp on the quality of things that touch your skin. Towels, bed sheets, toilet paper - spend the money for the high-end stuff - it will make you very happy when you hate your life and/or you have a "friend" over.
For all you Charles Tyrwhitt lovers, every time you want to buy the shirts just google one of their competitors "TM Lewin Dress Shirts" for example and one of the ads at the top will be for CT shirts at 3 for $99. I've never paid more than $33/shirt

Agree re: Uniqlo. Great silhouette, but not durable long-term. I knew guy who made $20m/year and wore a brand new Uniqlo dress shirt every day (he donated them instead of washing. He also commuted to work by taking his yacht from Westport to 23 St boat basin then jumping in a car)
Second the Charles Tyrwhitt recommendations. For ~$40, the quality is great. Fabric lasts for a long time and you never have to iron. Get a cut slimmer than you normally would: “slim fit” is still pretty baggy, but they have extra slim and super slim.

Ignore the $110 price tag. Use the trick from UnbreakableGlass — search for the competitor and use the Tyrwhitt ad link that appears. At the very least, create a free account and they will immediately spam you with (useful) sales.
Uniqlo is by far the best for its price. I'd say they are even better than most shirts that go for $99 a piece.
