Best shampoo for balding?
I'm a young guy (early 20s) and I already notice early signs of balding (thinning in the crown and frontal areas). What are the best shampoos for hair loss? What will stop it or at least slow it down? Not interested in finasteride or minoxidil just yet. Thanks.

Dude you need to get on minoxidil and finasteride NOW. Once you actually start seeing it, it’s too late. Believe me. Be diligent with this do not fuck around.
Bump, in my mid-20s and paranoid about hair loss. Been seeing a decent amount of hair falling everytime I shower, girlfriend says it's normal but not convinced.
Nair
Use Keeps - best hair pills + hair solutions on the market. They give you a very small dose of finasteride so you limit the side effects, and they also have shampoos etc.
Embrace the balding. In my office, less hair = more respect. Shiny heads are a status symbol. It means you've been through it and earned your place.
Maybe when I'm 60 and ready to retire soon but not now.
I feel you man. Im 23 and I feel like every time I shower, I'm pulling out pieces of hair. My hairline is looking real whack
Balding is prestigious, cf. https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/a-definitive-prestige-tier-list-…
Why the hell would you want to stop it ?
Nioxin #2 for Significant Hair Loss. That said, it's an internal / hormonal issue and a topical shampoo will not do much. Genetics will be the most important. Whether you can get a hair transplant will be the second most important. Minox/Fin will be the third most important. And then everything else (food, shampoo, rain dances, hopes and wishes) will be fourth most important. I recommend talking to a dermatologist about oral minoxidil, not officially on the market but my derm prescribed to me and it's SO MUCH better than the messy topical foam/liquid (no more or less effective, just a hell of a lot easier).
I'll check this out. What do you think of Nizoral?
I've had it before to use 1x or 2x a week when I'm not using Nioxin - can't say I think it has made a huge difference. We all thin at our our pace so it's hard to say whether mine would have been better/worse without it.
Second this. Your hormone level is the most important you should build a system to adjust that: food, exercise, sleep (tougher if you work in banking but still), no drinking, etc.
Minox and Propecia ASAP
Rogaine is about the only thing scientifically shown to slow it down. Now before you go running down a rabbit hole of millions of solutions, consider this. Jeff Bezos is bald. In fact, look at most billionaires.....yup they're going bald. These guys have every solution under the sun available to them, and it's still not working. You can slow it down but in the long run sorry to tell you but it's gone.
Minoxidil and Propecia are the only things that actually slow it, but Invati shampoo from Aveda makes it feel a lot thicker after the wash
Dr Bronners!
Use caution with Finasteride, I would suggest talking to your doctor first. Its all fun and games until your hair looks great but your dick doesn't work. Also, seriously look into a hair transplant if you're really self conscious about it. If you feel like taking a trip to Istanbul you can get a new head of hair for about $2K.
Rogaine is effective, at least from seeing my friends using it and witnessing noticeable results.
