Big Neck - Can’t Find Shirts
Hi monkeys,
I am a skinny person with a huge neck (wrestler build) so I have trouble finding a non-iron shirt that fits.
I don’t want a collar extender, it looks like a choker.
I usually don’t button the last one but I might have to for interviews (to wear a tie).
I only wear non-iron because I’m lazy and I can’t afford custom made. But I can get it tailored.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some recommendations for your situation:
Charles Tyrwhitt Non-Iron Shirts: These are highly recommended for their quality and fit. They offer a range of sizes, including options for larger necks, and their extra slim fit might work well for your build. They also have multi-buy deals, which can help keep costs down.
Proper Cloth: This brand allows you to customize your shirt fit by answering a few questions. While not fully custom-made, it provides a tailored-like fit without the high price tag.
State and Liberty: Designed for athletic builds, these shirts are fitted for broader necks and slimmer waists. They are non-iron, machine washable, and wrinkle-free, making them a convenient option.
Tailoring Off-the-Rack Shirts: If you find a shirt that fits your neck but is too loose elsewhere, consider buying inexpensive shirts and having them tailored. Fit is the most important aspect, and tailoring can make a significant difference.
Brands to Explore:
For interviews, ensure the shirt fits well around the neck to avoid discomfort when wearing a tie. Tailoring and exploring brands that cater to athletic builds will help you achieve a polished look without breaking the bank.
