Business Casual First Day? (SA)

I got an email saying that the dress code is business casual for my internship orientation.

  1. Does this mean no suit on first day?

  2. What about business casual shoes?

    (a) Are flat oxfords good?

Something like the Allen Edmonds below but a cheaper alternative: (b) Or can I wear loafers / other suggestions for shoes I can wear everyday at the office?
