Hmm is it a firm like KKR, BX or a firm like TPG, Carlyle? Or is it a firm like Sculptor, Rockpoint? Will you be in asset management, debt originations, or acquisitions?
We need more info on the prestige of your position to figure out what type of watch is acceptable
The only reason I mention the firm type is to give an example of size/culture (ex-investment bankers etc) as opposed to a smaller family shop, which I think would have an effect on the flexibility.
I looked up the Garmin watches - they're just regular sport watches... no one cares the brand of your watch
Garmin really is the best smart watch on the market if you ask me. They are durable, and last for ever if you take care of them. They are really good at tracking runs and movement as well and you can even track sleep or upgrade to one that tracks Golf too.
I lost mine skiing after taking a nasty spill off a cliff and I was back in my local shop buying another one the same day. I can't live without mine.
