Suit Pants Cuffs or no Cuffs?

The sentiment of our users is that both pleats and cuffs are out of style and should not be worn in the industry.

CRE - Commercial Real Estate DeveloperDo not wear pleats or cuffs. You should not be dressing like a 70 year old man or a hipster in the office.

However, user @rubey419" shared a contrary opinion:

rubey419I prefer cuffs on my flat front dress pants, but I also wear them with a short/no break (i.e pants hemmed to the top of my shoe). Helps the pants drape well IMO. Majority of my dress and suit pants are cuffed with a few non. Definitely no pleats though.

I'll be curious to see if pleats come back. they were en vogue before the 60s came about when it was all flat front (look at gregory peck & cary grant, they wore both and made both look good), then pleats came back in the 80s and 90s (look at the style of American Psycho), and now flat front is all anyone says you should wear.

def go with the style of today (flat w/no cuff) if you're in your 20s trying to break in, but don't be surprised if pleats come back. fashion is dynamic, but more important than pleat/flat is the fit. be sure the jacket doesn't swallow you, be sure the waist and rise are good, and be sure your shirt and tie are on point. you won't lose an interview for having pleats, but you could not get a call back if you look sloppy as all fuck.
