Elevator shoes for the office?

I am 163cm / 5'4'' and am looking into elevator shoes which can help a bit with height in the office. I know a lot of people will say to just be more confident but a lot of people just don't realize how short males are looked upon in US/European offices when the average height is like 20 cm more. This is especially true for client facing roles.

Nevertheless, does anyone have some recommendation for any elevator shoes? I have found the below websites but not sure how good quality they are. Alternatively any "custom" shoe maker in London which could just make the shoes to give you something like 5-7cm more.

Thanks!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, elevator shoes can be a practical solution for adding height in professional settings, especially for client-facing roles where confidence and presence matter. Here are some insights and recommendations:

  1. Quality Elevator Shoe Brands:

    • Chamaripa: Known for their height-increasing shoes, including formal styles like Chelsea boots. Reviews suggest decent quality for the price, but ensure you check customer feedback for durability.
    • Don's Footwear: Offers customizable options with midsole technology for height increase. They are often praised for their craftsmanship and ability to blend the height boost seamlessly into the shoe design.
  2. Custom Shoe Makers in London:

    • While specific custom makers for elevator shoes aren't highlighted in the WSO threads, you could explore high-end bespoke shoemakers in London like John Lobb or George Cleverley. While they may not specialize in elevator shoes, they could potentially accommodate your request for discreet height-boosting designs.
  3. Considerations:

    • Ensure the shoes are comfortable for long wear, as some elevator shoes can compromise on ergonomics.
    • Opt for styles that align with office norms, such as Oxfords or Chelsea boots, to maintain a professional appearance.

If you're looking for more general advice on formal footwear, threads on brands like Allen Edmonds, Carmina, and TLB Artista also provide great insights into quality and style.

That’s certainly just insecurity. If anyone is judging it is a reflection of their own insecurities as well. Plus, heigh boosters barely make a difference. You’re the only one who would even notice the height difference. Competency comes in all shapes and sizes.
