Everyday watches for ~$10k?

What do you guys think is the move here? Classic options would be the Datejust or Submariner but curious to see other suggestions in this price range. The new IWC Portuguese with the automatic movement looks nice as do some Panerais. JLC is great too but too dressy IMO and not a great for the weekends.

chopard alpine eagle omega mechanical 321 moonwatch Blancpain 50 fathoms Panerai luminor Maybe a used AP RO Zenith if you like the limited edition chrono watch and their aviation style and Ulysse Nardin for more marine oriented watches. any of the ones mentioned above would be excellent and last a lifetime with the right care. personally I’m partial to the chopard for its incredible manufacturing (reprocessing recycled steel to exceed the quality of surgical steel is pretty sweet) and the band is unique

I wouldn't put a hard cap or something on a watch that you are going to wear every day (obviously there is still a limit on how much to spend). Rather, I would look around for something you really like (maybe it's a 15k AP or whatever) and save up for that. Go and visit a few watch stores (hit Rolex, an Omega dealer, some local shops that have a variety, etc.) and try some on to see how they look on your wrist and what is comfortable to you. A nice watch store will have plenty of options around that price range and maybe slightly above; once you've looked around then you can settle on one that you really like.

Overall, don't pin yourself to a price because if you buy a 10k watch when you wanted the 15k one then you will just regret it.

whole lot of options from Grand Seiko that would be a great watch for the office. Cartier Santos is also a cool one in stainless for ~7k. If you can go above 10k, i've seen a few used A. Lange's for 14-17k in gold that would also be a great everyday watch with no frills.

Personally, I like having a date on the watch I wear in the office, so much easier than pulling up a calendar or checking my phone.

omega Seamaster. professional but is also a great weekend/ summer watch. very functional and just cool design. Also has a helium escape valve so it’s a true dive watch.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
