Hey guys, I know there are old threads on this but nothing updated. So I was wondering what the perception / expectation is nowadays for analysts regarding facial hair. Is clean shaven still the expectation or is it acceptable to have well groomed facial hair in the office for an incoming IB analyst?
Thanks guys
Don't think it matters at all but will allow for others to opine here
Currently have a beard, no one seems to care
As long as it looks good and is well groomed.
No one cares as long as you look out together - wear what makes you most confident!

Conventional wisdom - with which I tend to agree - is that one looks as though one is hiding something. I doubt anyone will mind to begin with, but might be good to start shaving as one becomes more client facing.
That’s an interesting way to think about it considering older threads talk about how the people that used to have facial hair were VPs or upward. No hate - just an observation
It’s a good point, but doesn’t that mean you have to, for lack of a better term, earn it? Maybe it’s the sort of thing which is better to save for later in the career?
Semi stupid question but is it any different in other cities? Namely houston?
No one cares. You’re a Excel / PowerPoint jockey.
Fair enough
Nobody cares
Guys with well-groomed facial hair are hot
