I think Hermes is a close competitor. I agree they are silly.
is any particular tie (brand, print pattern) too flashy for an analyst?
Wear whatever you want, my personal preferecne is for Hermes, Ferragamo, Gucci and Vineyard Vines.
Hermes and Turnbull and Asser are very nice ties.
nothing is too flashy for an analyst. rock Hermes every day and you'll be well on your way to fitting in and showing your superiors how cool you are.
I loved Ferragamo in the 90s. I think that Vineyard Vines took the whole Ferragamo whimsy factor and imitated it. They have obviously done a good job!
I prefer Aquascutum and Massimo Bizzochi

Always admired Hillside and Drake's
I really like Zegna ties and how thick they are.
Personally, I like keeping it simple. Pin dots, solid, stripe, etc.
Fan of the italian suitsmakers for nice silk ties - Zegna, Brioni, etc. Not as obnoxious as Hermes. Drakes if you want texture and a fatter knot. And nothing wrong with wearing your striped BB/J Press ties from the college days.
I like Drake's. Better quality for the price compared to ferragamo.
