How do you break in shoes
Last week I purchased a $295 pair of very nice Johnston & Murphy dress shoes. They fit me perfect as they slide right on. I wore them for the first time yesterday. There is a little slippage in the heel (very little as they fit pretty nicely), but within 30 minutes, I was unable to walk as my heels both had tremendous blisters. I was contemplating wearing double/triple socks until they are broken in. Any other suggestions?
go with some thick wool socks. walk around your place in them for a while. a good pair of shoes is worth the pain haha
Buy the correct size or fit next time. Shoes shouldn't injure you, especially if you're already wearing socks.
I disagree. If you get a nice pair of dress shoes the leather will often be very stiff which needs to be loosened up through just wearing them.
Are they loafers or laced? This shouldn't really happen with laced shoes, but it can with loafers, especially loafers with double leather sole.
just wear them and stop crying about it
