Is it acceptable to wear pinstripes/wingtips in the office?

I have worn both in the past. Never thought much of it. Only the really senior guys do it. I’ve always thought it was out of style. But I read a post on here recently that suggested it was a hierarchical thing. For reference I’m an underclassman intern. The guys who wear them are like 50+ years older than me. Is this creating a bad impression?
